Position Description

About the Role - A current New York Nurse Aide Certification is required for these positions. We are looking to fill a few full-time CNA positions. We currently have openings for the following shifts: 6 a.m. -2:30 p.m. | 2 p.m. -10:30 p.m. | 10 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. Great leadership, safe staffing, competitive pay, and amazing benefits. In addition to base hourly rates, we have shift differentials totaling: Evening: $5.00 per hour Night: $6.25 per hour A sign-on bonus of $4,000 is available for full-time CNA positions! Subject to applicable taxes, the bonus is paid over 1 year with a 12-month commitment. Please note that current University of Vermont Health Network employees are excluded from eligibility for this bonus.

Responsibilities - Responsibilities for this role encompass a wide range of essential tasks. These include assisting residents with their personal care needs, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding, always prioritizing their privacy, dignity, and preferences. You'll provide mobility support by using proper techniques and equipment to help residents with transfers, aiming to prevent falls or injuries. Monitoring vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate, is crucial, and you'll report any significant changes to the nursing staff. Observing residents' physical and emotional conditions, and promptly notifying the nursing team of any changes in behavior, mobility, or health status, is essential. Assisting licensed nurses with medication administration, ensuring accurate documentation, providing nutrition support, and maintaining infection control protocols are all part of your role. Effective communication with residents, families, and the healthcare team is key, as is being an advocate for residents' rights and addressing their preferences and concerns. Offering emotional support, fostering a compassionate environment, and collaborating with various healthcare professionals to implement care plans and achieve residents' goals are also central to your responsibilities.

Qualifications - Education: Active New York State Nurse Aide Certification; High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: Previous experience as a CNA, especially in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting, is preferred. Physical Stamina: CNAs need physical strength and endurance to assist with lifting, transferring, and providing hands-on care to residents. Empathy and Compassion: A genuine concern for the well-being of residents, along with the ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and kindness. Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and the healthcare team. Attention to Detail: Ability to observe and report changes in residents' condition, accurately document care provided, and follow procedures diligently. Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with a diverse healthcare team and contribute to the overall resident care plan. Adaptability: Flexibility to handle varying resident needs, changing priorities, and the dynamic nature of healthcare settings.
